Hungry?

There is another interesting subject in photography – food photography. It is probably not as difficult as taking pictures of people or events, but it still requires a lot of skills and love both for photography and food. There is a lot of fun in composing the food, playing with colours and depth of filed. Photographer Michael Ray gives loads of very useful tips on his blog. The most important for me are: the angle of view, tight cropping, shallow depth of field, adding a little bit of vegetable oil using a paintbrush which makes food look hot, wet and tasty, using a soft light and adding a back light with mirrors. Ray’s article is long, but worth reading till the end, so if you have ever been thinking about photographing food, search web/books first and learn from good examples.
